The Valley

Late yesterday we got back from a 10-day trip to grandma Virginia's house in South Texas.  The boys had a blast.  They had a huge carpeted room to play in filled with their cousin Leslie's fun toys.

Over the weekend we went to the 60th Anniversary of the catholic church in nearby McCook, TX.  It was a large gathering (500 or so!) of generations of primarily Polish families that have created a wonderful community in the area.  And of course, there was delicious Polish sausage!

Leslie tried her best to play 'school' with the boys but got a little frustrated when they wouldn't pay attention.  ;-)

Here are a few photos from the trip.  The first one is our car packed to the brim and Ronnie's rigging of my iPad to entertain the boys during the long trip.  It only took about 5 1/2 hrs to get down there but a grueling 8 hours on the return trip (including several unpleasant service station diaper changes).

When we got back to our house in Austin last night I learned a VERY valuable lesson:  If you forget to empty a full diaper pail before you go out of town for 10 days . . . you will NOT forget AGAIN.
